The Conversations #1

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (JUNE 2015)

“I’ve been through some rough times where I thought I was going to lose my mind. I didn’t know how to deal with it at first, some people drink or smoke, some people take drugs, but I soon figured out that all I need in this world is a piece of chalk to be happy.”

“I got this tattoo when I was sixteen. Everybody at the time was falling in love, dancing to ABBA and getting married, but not me. I decided that it would be best to love myself first.”

“People judge others on appearances too often. Police always get suspicious when they see me drawing on the concrete and take a look at my bad teeth. They rough me up and ask me if I’ve shot up recently. I don’t even touch heroin, maybe a bit of marijuana here and there, but never heroin. They don’t understand that I’m just getting old and I’m getting weak and this is just what happens when you don’t take care of your teeth.”
